These photographs are a part of a series titled, “Streets of Where I’m From”. While photographing my home city of Worcester, I desire to capture areas of the city which people may frequently pass, but never actually stop to notice – spaces that many may not consider significant enough to really envelop themselves in. These areas are ones that are often found in disrepair and for better or for worse, will not exist in the capacity that they do today. This does not mean that Worcester is a landscape that has succumbed to decay and neglect. To me, it is important to capture the city’s unique personality through these spaces and draw attention to the life that has been breathed into these otherwise abandoned locations.
